Adolescent Literacy chap. 12-13 Reflection

I teach Spanish to the point where I know each student has understood. I had a hard time learning different concepts during my education and I want to always make sure everyone is understanding. One common phrase I always use is, "You know?" Because of this I am a good teacher, I love my students, I love my job, and I love to be involved, but I am a poor writer. Does this mean I am a poor teacher?

I don't think that writing and teaching are in lock-step with one another. Certainly it is important to practice writing and to grow as a learner, which only augments one's teaching.

I am sure in some way, shape or form you do implement writing into your classroom. It may not be in the form of a research paper, but for us Spanish teachers I think it is a little different. If we can get a student to express their thoughts in a complete sentence, IN SPANISH, then we are promoting writing in our own way. And no, you're not a bad teacher. :)
